sql search fails

Greetings,

I have added a mssql query to the 'cm' screen that should read from my default shipping table.
when i was creating the odbc data, i asked for the software to test the connection to the server.
The connection was fine.

However, when i execute the sql query in the search screen, it reports a connection failure.

I'm hoping that someone has some advice or insite on this issue.
